Hard Rock Cafe goes Russia. Yes, it's true.
Finally there will be a real Hard Rock Cafe in Moscow. 
Hard
Rock's Employee Newsletter in summer 2002 said: 'Eastern
Europe, where the Hard Rock Cafe brand has not traditionally
been well represented, is a primary target for franchise
expansion'. Well, it looks like they found a franchise
partner for Moscow. From what I heard the
location for the new HRC is great (I have to admit: so far I
have never been to Moscow - but now that there will be a HRC
I guess there is a good reason for me to go there). Two
huge guitars will hang outside the building. The HRC will
have two storys. When you enter the HRC you will be greeted
by an entrance lobby with a nice painting on the bottom of
the lobby. Click here

of the cafe there will be a nice and spacious bar. Should be
great to have a beer here. Click

will have a nice dining area which looks also very spacious

here to see it). Doug Steele of the HRC
Moscow team told me that the new cafe shall be open in July
2003. Doug and his friend Marty run a very famous bar in
Moscow called 'Doug's and Marty's Boar House'. They
celebrated the 5th anniversary of the Boar House in summer
2002. Looking at the menu of this bar
you feel like being already inside of a HRC - and the crowds
from what I heard are here as good as in any HRC where the
YMCA is performed by the staff. Also they have live music in
the Boar House. So: To me it sounds like these guys are the
perfect team to open a HRC Moscow. Doug will celebrate his
52nd birthday soon in March - and maybe his following
birthdays he will celebrate at his own HRC Moscow. So watch out for some russian HRC pins. Good luck HRC
